The world's stages shine with the splendor of Giacomo Puccini! After the triumph of the Puccini exhibition in Berlin, which attracted over 10,000 visitors, the fascinating multimedia show “Puccini – Opera Meets New Media” has now opened its doors at the Museo Teatrale alla Scala in Milan. Original documents from Puccini's masterpiece come back to this legendary location to be admired once again!
The exciting exhibition reveals the extraordinary connection between Puccini's artistic work and the business activities of Casa Ricordi. In keeping with the breathtaking presentation, the challenges of media rights in the early 20th century are examined closely. Valuable scores, handwritten notes and unique sketches are on display that illuminate the deep connection between art and business, explains curator Gabriele Dotto. Bertelsmann's CEO, Thomas Rabe, emphasizes: "The legacy of the Ricordi archive is invaluable and reflects the roots of rights marketing - a business with which Bertelsmann is closely linked."
Fascination and responsibility
Bertelsmann takes its responsibility as owner of the Ricordi Archive seriously and ensures that this cultural heritage is preserved for future generations. The exhibition not only shows the history of Italian opera, but also the important role of the Ricordi family in the field of copyright.
