ORF awards new Digital adStar: Choose your favorite campaign!

ORF-Enterprise today launched the new Digital adStar, an audience award for digital campaigns ORF.at Network. This prize is awarded every six months and is based on voting by registered ORF Enterprise users. The aim of the award is to make successful campaigns more visible in terms of implementation and advertising impact.

Matthias Seiringer, Head of Digital Sales at ORF-Enterprise, underlined the importance of this award as it promotes appreciation for strong digital campaigns in the public sector. Nominated campaigns are selected by the ORF-Enterprise digital team, with criteria such as click and visibility rates, technical implementation and operational quality being evaluated.

Details about voting and nominations

The first shortlist for the Digital adStar includes campaigns that were launched on the ORF.at network between January 1st and June 30th, 2025. Various formats such as instream, CTV, display and contextual intelligence campaigns are taken into account. Online voting will take place from July 17th to August 8th, 2025. Each registered user can vote once to choose their favorite campaign. The winning campaigns will be announced in August 2025.

With the introduction of this award, ORF-Enterprise would like to give additional visibility to the digital advertising successes in Austria's largest news network. The level of cooperation between clients, agencies and internal campaign management is also particularly emphasized.

Market development and digital advertising

The relevance of digital advertising is not only evident in Austria. In 2024, the volume of advertising expenditure in the area of ​​digital advertising in Germany will be around 16.5 billion euros, with a forecast of 21.0 billion euros by 2028. The market will be characterized by annual growth rates of 6.43% between 2024 and 2028, which indicates the increasing demand for digital forms of advertising. Significant growth is expected, particularly in mobile advertising, which is expected to account for 55% of total revenue in 2028.

The distribution of sales in digital advertising shows clear trends: 82% of expenditure is expected to be on programmatic advertising by 2028. Large technology companies such as Alphabet, Meta Platforms and Amazon are expected to take a leading role in the digital advertising market.

Overall, the introduction of the Digital adStar at ORF-Enterprise shows the progressive change towards a digital media landscape and underlines the importance of innovative advertising strategies in a rapidly developing market environment.
