The initial construction costs of 20 million euros have ballooned! The city is now expecting an incredible 100 million euros, including a risk buffer. Critics are outraged by the skyrocketing costs and question whether the project is really necessary. Mayor Dieter Freytag, on the other hand, tirelessly emphasizes the urgency of the new guard. It is essential for the accommodation of the emergency services and the rapid emergency care of Brühl's citizens.

A construction project with a future

The work will initially begin in civil engineering, and from April 2025 things will really ramp up! The entire construction period is scheduled to last around three years, with the fire and rescue services scheduled to move in at the beginning of 2028. The city of Brühl is determined to see the project through despite the financial concerns and to ensure the safety of its citizens.

The discussion about the high costs will certainly continue, but the city has clear plans and is staying on track. Brühl relies on a modern infrastructure for the rescue workers - a courageous step into the future!
