New Traffic Director Marcel Zirnsak: Ensuring safety for Siegen!

Last week there was a significant change in the leadership of the Traffic Directorate of the Siegen-Wittgenstein District Police Authority. According to official information, Police Councilor Marcel Zirnsak took up his new position on October 1, 2024. This was recognized with a warm reception in the district hall, where District Administrator Andreas Müller and Police Director Thomas Fürst Zirnsak welcomed them to their new roles.

The 44-year-old Zirnsak is taking on a key position, which not only affects his career, but also future traffic safety in the region. Müller expressed his optimism: "With Marcel Zirnsak we have gained a committed manager. The extensive experience he brings with him from the Märkisches Kreis makes him the ideal person to head the management."

Career path of Marcel Zirnsak

Marcel Zirnsak, a Sauerland native, lives in Lüdenscheid with his wife and two children. He has been working in the police service since 2002. After his training, he started in security service and then moved to the Traffic Directorate, where he led a traffic service group for several years. His ambitions led him to higher service in 2020 and after four years of intensive training, including a two-year master's degree, Zirnsak is now ready for this responsible task.

In his new role, Zirnsak is particularly motivated to maintain the high standard of road safety in Siegen-Wittgenstein, which makes the region statistically the safest in terms of road traffic. "I am very much looking forward to my new role and to the many committed colleagues. Together we want to ensure that this positive development continues," explained Zirnsak in his welcome.

Under his command, the Traffic Directorate will continue to be responsible for various tasks, including the traffic commissioner at the Siegen, Kreuztal and Bad Berleburg locations. Zirnsak's area of responsibility also includes traffic accident prevention, victim protection, technical controls and combating the main causes of accidents - all essential aspects for the safety of citizens.

This personnel change is not only a first for the organization, but could also have a significant impact on the region's road safety strategies. The entire police force will be enriched by Zirnsak's experience and fresh perspectives, which can influence future projects and initiatives in several ways.

The Siegen-Wittgenstein district police authority will continue to rely on the support of the population in order to fulfill its mission. Questions about current matters can be directed directly to the authority's press and public relations department to ensure that all relevant road safety information is always available.
