Shido opens: Vietnamese delicacies conquer Hammer pedestrian zone!

There are changes in the catering industry in the Hammer pedestrian zone. While Kasabar, known for its Vietnamese specialties and an extensive selection of drinks, closed on September 1st, a new restaurant called “Shido” opened on September 26th. This new opening promises not only a fresh menu, but also a revamped ambience for guests.

Kasabar opened its doors last year in the former Hardys and offered a variety of sushi options as well as Vietnamese cuisine. Shido will offer similar food, but with a clearer focus on Vietnamese dishes and sushi. This realignment could reignite guest interest.

Ambience and space

The new restaurant has set itself apart from its predecessor. Instead of a large bar, which dominated Kasabar, a concept was developed that offers more space for guests. The furniture was completely renewed and the entire ambience was designed in darker tones. The aim of this design is to create a more relaxing atmosphere that invites you to linger.

Additionally, there is a new sushi bar that allows guests to watch the chefs prepare the sushi rolls live. This interactivity could be particularly interesting for sushi lovers and enrich the restaurant experience.

Personnel takeover and support

The transfer of staff from Kasabar ensures continuity. Former owner Canh Sang Nguyen will remain with Shido in the initial phase and will offer valuable support to the new team. In addition, three trainees and a chef were taken over from Kasabar to Shido, which strengthens the expertise of the new restaurant.

These developments are important for the gastronomy scene in Hamm, as Shido not only continues old traditions, but also sets new accents to reflect the changes in gastronomy. The restaurant could thus become a new attraction in the pedestrian zone, attracting both regular customers and new guests.
