Mettmann's Scary House: A Halloween spectacle for the whole family!
Mettmann is in Halloween fever! Maurice Giebisch, a passionate horror fan, has transformed his parents' house into a spooky house that will captivate visitors until November 1st. The 21-year-old spent his savings on impressive decorations, including a smoke machine and eerie lights to create the perfect atmosphere.
Maurice, who was already involved in a spooky house in Hamm as a teenager, launched his first own haunted spectacle in 2020 when the previous operator emigrated to Canada. “I just love decorating,” he says enthusiastically about his unusual hobby. This year he has prepared a new attraction: a spooky horror maze that takes guests through spooky rooms, including a spooky doll room.
Admission is free, but donations welcome!
The best part? Entry is free! Instead, Giebisch collects donations for the “Lichtblicke” campaign, which supports families and children in need. Every Thursday to Sunday, those interested in spooky things can visit the Halloween House on Krumbach in Mettmann from 7 p.m. And that's not all: After the horror festival, the decoration fanat plans to let his Christmas house shine in all its splendor from the 1st of Advent. The festive anticipation is coming soon!
