Tosca returns: Boris Statsenko delights Düsseldorf opera-goers!
Puccini's opera “Tosca” will be performed at the Düsseldorf Opera House from January 16, 2025. This popular production, by Dietrich W. Hilsdorf, premiered in 2002 and has since established itself as an audience favorite. Péter Halász takes over the musical direction. In four performances, Boris Statsenko will play the role of Scarpia, a role he has played more than 30 times at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein since 2002.
After the performances in Düsseldorf, the show will continue at the Theater Duisburg from February 27, 2025. In addition to Boris Statsenko, other artists are currently involved in various leading and supporting roles. In February 2025, Alexey Zelenkov will take on the role of Scarpia in Düsseldorf, while Anooshah Golesorkhi will appear as Scarpia in three performances in Duisburg. The title role Tosca will be sung on separate evenings by Ekaterina Sannikova and Liana Aleksanyan, while Young Woo Kim makes his house debut as Cavaradossi.
