Old Gerresheim cemetery: new park for more diversity and fun!

The old Gerresheim cemetery has run through a breathtaking makeover! The city of Düsseldorf has redesigned the extensive green area between Dreherstraße and Regenbergastraße and transformed into a paradise for relaxation, games and sport. With an investment effort of around 600,000 euros, the city not only removed unsightly paved areas, but also created spaces for nature and biological life.

The species -rich flower meadows, which emerged from lawns, actively contribute to biodiversity. For sports enthusiasts there is now a new Calisthenics facility for own weight exercises and an extended playground with new attractions such as a double swing. The redesigned park is now an excellent place for games, sports and sociable meetings.
