In a surprising move, the city of Bonn closed three swimming pools on Friday, October 25, 2024! The teaching pool at the Derletalschule as well as the sports and teaching pool at the Frankenbad are affected. The reason? A “non-compliance with the prescribed water values,” as the city announced. An alarming signal for all water lovers!
News of the closure spread quickly. A message from the city administration immediately informed the schools and clubs. While the multi-swimming pool in the Frankenbad will at least remain open, other users will have to forego their beloved water activities for the time being.
First measures initiated
The affected pools were already subjected to intensive chlorine treatment over the weekend. A new water quality check is scheduled for Monday, October 28th. After this inspection, the city will issue a statement that will decide when the pools will be open to the public again. A race against time for all swimming fans!
