Speeders in Wittmund beware: speed camera reports for today!

Watch out, drivers! On November 13th, 2024, speed will be strictly monitored in Wittmund! Anyone who doesn't follow the rules will face high fines and even a temporary driving ban. There is currently only one location where speeders can fall into a mobile speed trap. The police in Lower Saxony keep an eye on the roads and regularly carry out speed measurements to ensure road safety.

The mobile speed trap has been active since 6:21 a.m. at the Rispel location (zip code 26409 in Leerhafe), where a speed limit of 70 km/h applies. However, it has not yet been officially confirmed whether the speed camera is actually there. Anyone who has been flashed can find information and seek support on the Geblitzt.de website. Observing speed limits is not only a legal obligation, but also protects other road users such as cyclists and pedestrians.

Important to know: Radar detectors and speed camera apps are prohibited while driving! This means that drivers are not allowed to use devices that warn of speed cameras. According to Section 23, Paragraph 1b of the StVO, it is prohibited to operate technical devices that display or disrupt traffic monitoring measures. The smartphone can be used, but the warning function must be deactivated. Follow the rules and drive safely!
