Works councils from Stade win silver price for future project!

Stade, Deutschland - A radiant success for the Stade works council! On November 7, the brave initiators of this future-oriented project in Bonn were awarded the German Silver Works Council Prize. An initial “air castle” emerged a strong alliance that secures around 10,000 jobs in the Stade region. Five committed works councils from Dow, Aluminum Oxid Stade, Olin, Trinseo and Iff N&H have created a masterpiece of business cooperation with foresight and solidarity.

"The project is a operational policy masterpiece," praised Stefan Soltmann from IGBCE. The works councils have recognized that the challenges of the energy crisis can only be mastered together. They developed a network to achieve a location guarantee contract for the five companies in the Stade Chemical Park. Despite the initial skepticism of the company management, the works councils could not be discouraged. With the support of Lower Saxony's Minister of Economics Olaf Lies, it was possible to bring all decision -makers to a table and set the course for successful cooperation.

a model for solidarity

The project group, which is now equipped with 315,000 euros for three years, will implement the location development plan for the Stade Chemical Park. Four working groups work on solutions for reduction in bureaucracy, retention of skilled workers and carbon dioxide -free energy supply. "The result counts," says Jonas von Holt, Chairman of the Works Council of Olin, who is happy about the positive development. The works councils are now in the spotlight and show what is possible with co -determination and solidarity.

But that wasn't everything! The audience award surprisingly went to the works council of the GSK location in Dresden. This had successfully prevented personnel reduction by temporarily reducing their working hours to 35 hours a week. "Winning the audience award is something very special," emphasized IGBCE expert Soltmann. The German Works Council Prize, which was awarded for the 16th time this year, recognizes committed works council work and emphasizes the importance of the company interest group in Germany.
