Shock in the CCL: Ring Photo Biering closes - what is behind it?

The City Center Langenhagen (CCL), since its opening in 1981 a central point of contact for the residents, faces comprehensive changes. Recently one of the oldest shops closed, Ring Photo Biering, and left an empty sales area, which is now temporarily decorated with a wall that is reminiscent of a future men's outfitter. However, the Langenhageners do not have to have any doubts about the liveliness of the center, since center management is actively working on solutions.

The Reno shoe chain recently celebrated a successful reopening on the upper floor of the shopping center. In addition, an Indian Restaurant called "Gulmohar" is planned, the opening of which is still expected in October. The center manager Angelika Kramm assures that further new openings are in the planning. "We can only talk about the names when the contracts are signed," she explains, indicating a positive development in rent.

The CCL has a considerable number of 120 shops despite the current vacancies and thus a large area of 30,000 square meters. Kramm emphasizes that despite the challenges there is no lack of interested parties for the rental areas. "We rely on a sustainable concept to optimally operate our customer needs," says the center manager.

The successor to Ring Photo Biering is currently still unclear. The area is expected to be offered again until February 2025. One of the challenges remains to find the right business concept that fits the dynamics of the center. The manager mentions that she is closely observed and found that "sporting goods and toys" would be desired, but the growth in these areas is stagnating.

In the existing building, conversions also take place. An area that was once used by the health insurance company Vivida BKK must be redesigned with regard to fire protection. In addition, the center started with a comprehensive modernization of the ventilation system and the installation of environmentally friendly LED technology.

In order to make the shopping experience even more attractive, the CCL is planning numerous actions by the end of the year. On November 2, the day of security with the popular television star Carsten Stahl will take place, followed by a day of heart health on November 6th. At the upcoming Christmas campaign from November 18 to December 7th, visitors can fulfill wishes of children, which gives them gifts before Christmas.

Although some shops are closing, the City Center Langenhagen is optimistic about the future. With planning for new tenant rooms and numerous events, the attractiveness of the CCL in Langenhagen is further promoted, which promises a colorful selection of offers. This could make the shopping center an indispensable meeting point in the region and compensate for the decline in business in the past.
