Escape with an accident: speeder caught in Hanover after chase
The drama in Hanover: On Sunday, November 17, 2024, a driver in Hanover-Bornum fled while trying to evade a traffic stop. At 3:00 a.m., police officers from the Hanover-Ricklingen police station came across a fully occupied BMW 5 Series that was speeding away. The 31-year-old driver from Ronnenberg excused himself and drove towards the Deisterkreisel at increased speed.
On his rapid escape route, the driver not only ignored the police stop signs, but also several red lights! When his BMW came to an abrupt stop on Hamelner Chaussee, the officers tried to intercept the car with their patrol car, which ultimately led to a collision between the two vehicles. Luckily no one was injured, but the driver did not allow himself to be stopped and continued his rapid journey until he was stopped again by the police on “Im Hellerloh” street.
Shock and consequences for the outlaw
The police took the fleeing driver into custody to take a blood sample because he was suspected of being drunk while driving. The situation escalated further: In addition to the charge of leaving the scene of the accident without permission, the driver was charged with endangering road traffic and taking part in a prohibited motor vehicle race. The investigations by the Hanover Traffic Accident Service are in full swing and the authorities expect further legal action against the brazen lawbreaker. A scandalous example of reckless driving that will not go unnoticed!
