Winter service in the Grafschaft Bentheim: Risk of slipping threatens!
In the county of Bentheim, the preparations for the upcoming winter service 2025 are in full swing. The current temperatures are around freezing, which makes the streets and bike paths potentially slippery. In order to ensure safe traffic on the approximately 270 kilometers of district roads and 240 kilometers of cycle paths, the Grafschaffer Kreisstraßenmeisterei has provided 1,000 tons of road salt.
The scatter and space measures are carried out on the basis of the current and forecast weather conditions. The winter warning service is on working days at 1:30 a.m., while it depends on the weather conditions at the weekend. A team of 24, equipped with five large vehicles and three smaller vehicles for cycle paths, pursues the goal of completing the clearing and littering until 6 a.m.
efficient scattering and clearing technology
The Grafschaffer Kreisstraßmeisterei uses rock salt, which is stored in a salt silo in Neuenhaus and at other locations. A special moisture salt technology is used to increase the liability and effectiveness of the scatter. An additional 900 tons of road salt are available for emergencies.
In the past winter period, 25 litter operations were carried out, in which around 850 tons of road salt were used. However, it is pointed out that no absolute freedom of smoothness can be guaranteed. Road users are asked to drive carefully and plan more time, as emsvechtewelle.de .
