Linus Schulte-Wissermann is moving to the state football league team 1. SC Göttingen 05, How merkurist.de reported. The 24-year-old player was previously active at TuS Koblenz and is dubbed a “transfer hit” by his new club. The move to Göttingen is due to his medical studies, which he completed in the seventh semester.

In the current season, Schulte-Wissermann made three appearances for TuS Koblenz in the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar as well as one appearance in the DFB Cup and one in the Bitburg Rhineland Cup. The player was a crowd favorite at his hometown club and is valued for his strengths in tackling, passing, overview and communication. He also played in the U19 Bundesliga for SV Wehen Wiesbaden.

Positive expectations and squad increase

Schulte-Wissermann is optimistic about the new challenge in Göttingen and training with the new team. Jan Steiger, sporting director of 1. SC Göttingen 05, is pleased about the new addition and emphasizes the increase in squad quality. The club winters in third place in the Braunschweig regional league, just two points behind leaders MTV Wolfenbüttel. The start of the second half of the season is scheduled for March 5th against MTV Isenbüttel.

In further developments, captain Jannis Wenzel, also 24 years old, extended his contract until the 2025/26 season. Wenzel will play his 13th season at 1. SC Göttingen 05 next season. In addition, 18-year-old Len Brack, who moved to the U19 at the beginning of the season and became a leading player there, will be an integral part of the first men's team in the 2025/26 season.
