The 42nd Einbecker Brauhaus Cup begins on December 26, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. in the Göttingen Sparkasse Arena. The tournament is organized by the state league team SVG Göttingen and the district league team FC Grone. A total of 1,100 euros will be awarded in prize money, with the winner receiving 500 euros, second place receiving 300 euros, third place receiving 200 euros and fourth place receiving 100 euros.
The tournament format includes 24 teams, divided into six groups of four teams each. The preliminary rounds will take place on December 27th and 28th from 4:30 p.m. Finals day is scheduled for December 29th, with the finale at 10:15 p.m. The playing time is 14 minutes in the preliminary round and 10 minutes in the final. The first two in each group and the four best third-placed teams advance to the intermediate round, although in the event of a draw in the knockout games, 2 minutes of extra time and then a penalty shootout are applied.
Participants and groups
The participants include high-class teams such as Göttingen 05, the defending champion SVG Göttingen, SSV Nörten and Bovender SV. But a district league team such as FC Hettensen/Ellierode and SG Kleinalmerode/Hundelshausen/Dohrenbach from northern Hesse are also represented. In addition, 1. SC Heiligenstadt from the Thuringia League is taking part, while SG Westdörfer is there as a representative of the lowest division (2nd district division). SCW Göttingen is stepping in for TSV Herberhausen at short notice.

- Sparkasse Göttingen-Gruppe: SVG Göttingen, SG Werratal, SC Rosdorf, SG Westdörfer
- REWE-Gruppe: SG Kleinalmerode/Hundelshausen/Dohrenbach, SG Groß-Ellershausen/Hetjershausen, TSV 08 Groß Schneen, SG Elliehausen/Esebeck
- Stadtwerke Göttingen-Gruppe: 1. SC Heiligenstadt, SSV Nörten-Hardenberg, TSV Dramfeld, SG Hoher Hagen
In addition to the men's tournament, junior teams and over 500 children will also take part in the Kruger Kids Cup, which takes place from December 27th to 30th. For the first time, an over-32 tournament will also be held, starting on Monday at 4 p.m., while the final of this tournament will take place at 9:40 p.m.
Last year's winner, SVG Göttingen, won the final against Sparta Göttingen 4-0. The favorites of this year's tournament include the state league teams, especially SVG Göttingen and SSV Nörten-Hardenberg Göttingen Tageblatt reported.
