Shocking incidents in Emden: break-ins, assault and more!

Emden (ots)– Chaos broke out in Emden on Saturday morning! At 2 a.m., a 42-year-old man who was very drunk tried to break into an apartment building on Wilhelm-Leuschner-Strasse. He tried with all his might to break open the cellar doors, but he was only successful at two doors and stole a chainsaw! Alarmed by the neighbors' loud screams, the police were able to arrest the perpetrator near the crime scene. But the unsympathetic insulted the officers while he was being taken into custody and refused to take an alcohol test. The damage amount is around 175 euros.

As if it wasn't enough, the chaos continued! At 3:40 a.m., a 26-year-old attacked passers-by for no reason on Am Delft Street. Despite being sent off, he returned and was then taken into custody by the police - here too there were insulting words against the officers!

Shocking incident involving e-scooters

Faster than expected, a 57-year-old wanted to steal an e-scooter on Große Straße at 2:50 a.m.! As he tugged at the cable lock, two women intervened. The situation escalated: one of the women hit back after he tried to hurt her. The result was minor injuries for the older man, and another entry in the police lists was due!

And the traffic accidents don't stop! Two hit-and-run car accidents were reported: In Ulmenstrasse, a parked Skoda Kodiaq was damaged with 2,000 euros in damage, while in Horchstrasse, an Opel Astra suffered damage amounting to around 2,500 euros from another vehicle, also hit and run.

Last but not least, a 52-year-old cyclist was caught in Leer with a blood alcohol level of 1.9. He insulted the officers and tried to attack them! The result? Police custody while he answers for his behavior. And a serious traffic accident in Moormerland capped the day: two cars damaged, 25,000 euros worth of damage - but fortunately the drivers remained uninjured. How chaotic can a day get?
