Fire Brigade Westerstede trains for dramatic missions in Ammerland
In Ammerland, it is done seriously! In Westerstede, firefighters put their skills to the test, and that during a training session that had it all. On Tuesday evening, two extraordinary operational scenarios were on the program, which presented the emergency services with enormous challenges. An employee had caught in a corn chopper, while another was trapped under one combine harvester. Such accidents are becoming increasingly common and require quick and precise action!
Westerstede -The fire brigades from Ocholt-Ehowiek, Halsbek and Westerstede were on site, supported by the Technical Central Elmendorf. Exercise manager Henning Ulken had deliberately chosen these scenarios to optimally prepare his team for such emergencies. The contractor Christian Logemann kindly provided his vehicles, which helped the firefighters to develop a feeling for the real conditions. "The emergency services were challenged and had to try out various solutions," said the fire brigade in a message. The exercise was not only instructive, but also a real challenge!
intensive preparation for real operations
The firefighters were challenged because it was necessary to put the theoretical knowledge into practice! At the end of the exercise, Ulken was able to draw a positive conclusion. "Such service evenings are indispensable for the operational readiness of our fire brigades," he emphasized. Every move has to sit so that no time is lost in an emergency. The experiences gained are priceless and strengthen the skills of the emergency services enormously!
