New rules at Café Kropka: Laptops only for one hour!
A revolution in Café Kropka! Laptop use is limited to just one hour, and strollers only have limited space in the interior! Katrin Koch, the dedicated owner, announced these strict new rules in a forceful Instagram post, leaving some visitors upset.
What leads to these draconian measures? “It’s about survival!” explains Koch. With only 54 square meters, Kropka has to manage its limited resources cleverly, especially in the cold season when the terrace can no longer be used. The pandemic has created a new problem: More and more diners are using the cozy tables to work on their laptops for hours while their orders remain minimal. This has to end! Now laptop work is limited to designated places and to a maximum of one hour.

But that's not enough! There are also restrictions on space for strollers. “We can’t have the entire room blocked,” emphasizes Koch. Only two strollers are allowed in the café, the rest have to wait outside. Families are still very welcome! Extra space will be created outside for them to safely store their valuables while they enjoy the café. These measures are recognized by many guests as a necessary step, while others complain about the new order, especially when there is no space left for their laptops. The online reviews speak volumes, and Koch would like to see more tolerance.
Despite the concerns, the majority of visitors are overwhelmingly positive: “Well solved” and “One can only understand” are numerous comments among the comments. The newly introduced rules are definitely a bold step that will make Café Kropka shine in a new light! How will this all develop? Time will tell!
