Christmas Eve in Western Pomerania: 150,000 people celebrate in the churches!

Gristow, Deutschland - On Christmas Eve, numerous believers gather in Western Pomerania to celebrate Christmas services. Over 150,000 visitors are expected throughout Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania who want to take part in around 1,000 Christmas vases. Especially in the Greifswald cathedral, the benches are filled on December 24th at 5 p.m. when Bishop Tilman sermon and the youth choir musically supports. The festive events begin in the afternoon when children in Stralsund bring the Christmas story to the stage, such as in the St. Nikolai Church. Pastor Arnold Pett also becomes active in the municipality of Jarmen-Tutow because he holds three services in different locations before traditional Christmas music sounds at 10 p.m. in the Jarmen church, like ndr.de reported.

These spiritual meetings are not just simple services, they are meeting points of the community and faith. Pastor Volker Gummelt from the church in Gristow speaks of the positive development of the community, which lovingly takes care of its church. Here the celebration of the Christmas festival is accompanied by singing and the reading of psalms, whereby special attention is paid to the importance of light and truth. The service not only offers the participants a spiritual renewal, but also a place to think about social issues, as when referring to the situation in Ukraine. These profound messages shape the celebrations of the Western Pomerania, such as chrismon.de
