Military exercise about Northwest Mecklenburg: Loud aircraft plumper in the sky!

On Thursday evening, many people in Northwest Mecklenburg looked at the night sky, as a booming noises of military aircraft broke the silence. These loud tones came from a military exercise that took place over Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Current people could only follow the action on their smartphones or computers via flight bike apps, because the machines could not be seen with the naked eye.

High with impressive machines

As part of the "Magday" exercise-the abbreviation stands for multinational Air Group-impressive aircraft such as the Airbus A400M Atlas and the Airbus A330 MRTT of the Royal Air Force in the Netherlands were used. The latter is a military model of the A330 specially equipped for air refueling and transport. The Bundeswehr was also involved in the night flight exercise with an Airbus A400m Atlas, which took place at heights of around 4800 to 6000 meters above the northwest district.

The "Magday" exercises are, according to the Bundeswehr, national exercise days of the Air Force and the Multinational Air Group, which have been carried out four times a year in cooperation with other, non-Nato nations. These exercises are crucial for military cooperation and the operational readiness of the air forces in Europe.
