Neubrandenburg, Deutschland - In Neubrandenburg it is bubbling! After a heated dispute over the rainbow flag, the city council has made a clear confession to cosmopolitanism, tolerance and diversity in a dramatic turn. At the meeting on Wednesday, 24 out of 33 council members asked the city administration to develop suggestions on how these values can be made visible in the four-goal city. This happened only four weeks after the decision was made to no longer raise the rainbow flag in front of the train station.

The decision has far -reaching consequences! The city council has now decided that the rainbow flag can be raised again within the city. Mayor Thomas Gesswein expressed himself optimistic and said: "I assume that we will see the rainbow flag there again next year [Neubrandenburg station]." Around 80 supporters gathered in front of the conference building who pleaded for the new decision. The city administration should present a concept by May 2025 to effectively present Neubrandenburg's cosmopolitanism.
