Liebherr-Hausgeräte Lienz GmbH is celebrating a significant milestone in its training history: apprentices have been trained here for 40 years. The first course started in 1985, and since then the company has prepared countless young people for their professional careers. A central element of this training is the practical approach, which promotes personal development and opens up long-term perspectives. Current apprentices such as Marie Mattersberger and Leonie Lang benefit from in-depth training in various areas, which is shaped by the experience of previous apprentices who are still working in the company.
The first apprentices who started their careers at Liebherr in 1985 included Reinhard Stotter, Kurt Gomig, Andreas Oberdorfer and Dieter Robnig. Stotter, who began his training in tool making, is now a risk engineer for the entire Liebherr Group. Oberdorfer, who started out as a machinist, has also developed further and now holds a management position in production. Gomig and Robnig have also made careers and now lead teams in their respective areas. These success stories illustrate the quality and value of training at Liebherr, which always aims to meet the increasing demands of the market.
Current developments in training
In September 2024, ten new apprentices began their training in Lienz, about which the Small newspaper reported. The new trainees will be trained in areas such as metal technology, electrical engineering, operational logistics and application development (coding). Selina, a 17-year-old electrical engineering trainee, can look back on a family tradition at Liebherr, as both her grandfather and her father were employed at the company.
Liebherr not only invests in apprenticeship training, but also offers an in-house training workshop and an experienced training team. Apprentices have the opportunity to get to know other Liebherr plants in Germany and Bulgaria through exchange projects. Exchange programs for operational logistics clerks recently took place in Oberopfingen (DE) and Nenzing (AT), giving the learners a valuable insight into the company's international work processes.
Quality assurance through training regulations
