LASK: Winter transfers close to the finish line – who’s coming now?
LASK is active in the last days of the winter transfer window and is looking for new reinforcements for its offensive. According to current reports from the Oberösterreichische Nachrichten, concrete talks could take place with two strikers, including Christoph Lang from Rapid Vienna. The 23-year-old only moved from Sturm Graz to Vienna last winter for almost a million euros, but was unable to establish himself permanently in the team. According to the Kurier, Rapid are considering letting go of players who want more playing time, and Lang could be an ideal candidate here. So far this season he has only played 625 minutes across 15 competitive games.
Transfer windows and deadlines
The winter transfer window in Austria is currently running and is open until February 6th. The transfer window for most of Europe's top leagues officially closed on February 3rd at 8 p.m. for Germany and Serie A. In other countries such as the Netherlands and Turkey, transfers are possible until February 4th and 11th respectively. It is interesting that the Bundesliga has a mixed record in international comparison, while Nuremberg can report a successful transfer period, as Kicker reports.
So the clock is ticking for LASK, and if the negotiations with Lang and other players come to fruition, this could have a significant impact on the rest of the season. While the clubs in the major leagues have completed their transfers, LASK is relying on strategic reinforcements in order to remain competitive in the second half of the season.
