Free bus and train rides for holidaymakers in Oberallgäu!
From November 12th, Oberallgäu will become a hotspot for travelers! Holidaymakers who stay overnight in the participating cities and communities can look forward to sensational news: free bus and train travel to Lake Constance! A true dream for anyone who wants to explore the region!
A total of 17 municipalities have come together to offer their guests this unique “Mobil Pass Allgäu”. This pass, which is largely financed by spa fees, allows holidaymakers to use public transport in the region at no additional cost. The project, which has caused some controversy in the past, was officially launched at a ceremonial event in the Sonthofen Mobility Center. Not all communities are involved from the start, and there are plans to include other regions such as Kleinwalsertal later.
A step into the future of mobility
The introduction of the Mobil-Pass is a significant step towards more environmentally friendly and user-friendly mobility in Oberallgäu. Those responsible hope that this initiative will not only boost tourism, but also encourage the use of public transport. However, the discussions about the participation of the various municipalities show that not everyone agrees with the concept, which makes its implementation exciting in the future.
