Altitude rescuers conjure up Christmas magic: Santa Claus visits Eli!

A festive highlight for the little patients: On December 3rd, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., there will be a spectacular hustle and bustle in the Elisabeth Hospital in Rheydt! The popular high-altitude rescuers from the Mönchengladbach professional fire department will be organizing an exciting event together with Santa Claus and several superheroes on the 15-story main building of the hospital. The superheroes will lower themselves down to the little patients with dizzying rappelling actions and cause great cheers!

An unforgettable Christmas spectacle awaits spectators young and old! Santa Claus will also “float” and hand out gifts and lovingly designed get-well wishes from the students of the Meerkamp Catholic Primary School to the children in the clinic. Warm cocoa and wake-up calls will be provided so that everyone involved can fully enjoy the magic of St. Nicholas Day. This event not only brings joy, but also a distraction from everyday hospital life for young patients who often have to wait a long time for recovery.

Infectious anticipation

The event is part of a nationwide initiative launched by the Hamburg Fire Department. The high-altitude rescuers from the Mönchengladbach fire department are proud to once again be part of this special campaign, which is intended to put a smile on the faces of children in hospitals during St. Nicholas season. In the meantime, high-altitude rescue teams from all over Germany have come together to continue the tradition and organize similar festivals in their cities. The anticipation for the event is huge for everyone involved!

The close cooperation between the Mönchengladbach fire department and the Elisabeth Hospital Rheydt, supported by Rewe Markt GmbH and the Meerkamp Catholic elementary school, ensures that this special event will be a complete success this year. A big thank you to all the supporters who make these magical moments possible for patients big and small!
