Wiesbaden honors trainees: International internships as a springboard!

A celebratory moment shone on November 6th in the large ballroom of the Wiesbaden town hall! Head of Social Affairs Dr. Patricia Becher honored 19 talented trainees with the coveted “Europass Mobility” certificates. These young specialists completed international internships as part of the innovative “Internationalization of Training” (IndA) project, thereby taking a significant step in their professional careers. Dr. Becher not only recognized their extraordinary achievements, but also highlighted the immense importance of such programs for personal and professional development.

"It is a great honor for me to warmly congratulate them on behalf of the state capital Wiesbaden. This day not only marks an important milestone in their professional development, but also symbolizes the high relevance of international experiences for our city and beyond," announced Dr. Becher in her rousing speech. The IndA project, part of the Wiesbaden International Initiative, is supported by the “wi&you” youth work department in collaboration with the training department of the city of Wiesbaden and the Hessian Economy Education Center (BWHW). It enables young people to immerse themselves in other cultures and gain essential professional skills.

International experiences for the future

This year, three trainees from the city of Wiesbaden and 16 other young specialists set off for international internships in European partner cities. They gained valuable experience in professions ranging from carpentry to event management. The certificate awarded is an internationally recognized document that certifies the skills acquired during the internship and significantly increases the career opportunities of the participants.

"Their commitment and willingness to gain international experience have made them ambassadors for our city. They have built bridges between nations," praised Dr. Becher the trainees. Given the current global challenges, programs like Wiesbaden International are invaluable. They prepare young people for life in a networked world and promote intercultural understanding. An unforgettable afternoon that not only celebrated the successes of the participants, but also set the course for a cosmopolitan future!
