Wippershainer Höhe wind farm: Eight new wind turbines approved!
The Kassel regional council has taken a significant step in the energy transition! Eight new wind turbines (WEA) can now be built in the Oberförsterei Hersfeld-Wippershain district in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district. This decision, announced on November 27, 2024, marks an important step forward for the region and the use of renewable energy.
Approval for the wind turbines, which are type Nordex N163 / 6.X, was granted after an extensive test procedure. The turbines will have impressive dimensions: a hub height of 164 meters, a rotor diameter of 163 meters and a total height of 245.5 meters. Each of these plants will reach a rated output of 7 MW, promising a significant amount of clean energy!
Approval details and next steps
The approval will be published in the state gazette and on the RP Kassel website on December 9, 2024. The approval process was not easy - numerous comments were examined before the decision was made. The approval notice also contains various additional provisions that regulate the installation and operation of the wind turbines. This ensures that the new systems are not only operated efficiently, but also in an environmentally friendly manner.
