SG Niederaula/Kerspenhausen: Undefeated in the winter final!
The tension in the Northern Football District Oberliga is increasing because the last full match day before the winter break is approaching! SG Niederaula/Kerspenhausen, the undefeated leaders, have not lost any of their 17 games so far. Last Sunday they narrowly triumphed 2-1 against their pursuers Dittlofrod/Körnbach. With a comfortable lead of nine points and an upcoming home game against FSV Hohe Luft, coach Ernest Veapi's team is ready to end the year successfully. But Veapi remains cautious: "There are still 13 games to play. We have to stay awake even after the long winter break."
FSV Hohe Luft, on the other hand, is struggling with a dismal record: only one point from the last five games and a goal difference of 6:20. Coach Paco Garcia sees his team slipping to ninth place and describes the situation as depressing: “After the incident against Dittlofrod, we are viewed like criminals almost everywhere.” Injuries to key players such as Matthias Wolf and Julian Belosicky have exacerbated the situation. Garcia is hoping for improvement after the winter break, which will last 119 days for most teams.
Rise and fall in the table
While SG Friedewald/Ausbach climbs to third place with four wins in a row, FSG Jossatal is fighting to keep up after a bitter 2:10 defeat against Dittlofrod/Körnbach. With five points from the last three games, they have improved to third from bottom in the table. Another exciting duel awaits SG Haunetal, which, as twelfth in the table, can score twice this year with 17 points. On Saturday they will face Dittlofrod/Körnbach in the neighborhood duel.
The first matchday of the season was already a goal festival with 31 goals in eight matches. The second legs are now upon us and the teams are ready to give it their all before the long winter break begins. Things will continue on March 9th and the fans can look forward to exciting games.
