Fulda Christmas market: ice skating rink and festive highlights!
It's getting festive again in Fulda! The Christmas market opens its doors on November 29th and promises an unforgettable experience with over 90 stalls and huts. On more than 12,000 square meters, the city center is transformed into a true Christmas paradise where visitors can feast, browse and marvel. Mayor Dag Wehner (CDU) announced the exciting innovations that await guests this year during a press conference.
An absolute highlight is the brand new ice skating rink on the roof of the Karl concept department store, which will be opened under the name “Karlchen vom Dach”. From November 27th to December 29th, young and old can do laps on the synthetic ice rink - and it's free! Operators Paul Pawlowski-Rothen Bücher and Felix Wessling are enthusiastic about this attraction, which not only promises fun but also creates a great atmosphere. The track offers space for around 50 people and provides a feeling of riding on real ice.
Diverse theme worlds and attractions
The Christmas market is divided into five experience areas, including the children's Christmas market on Borgiasplatz, which delights with a nostalgic carousel and magical performances. In the medieval Christmas village in the museum courtyard, visitors can immerse themselves in another time, while the regional market at the butter market presents regional products from Hessian producers. Another carousel will also provide a Christmas atmosphere here.
Opening hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with extended serving hours on weekends. To ensure the safety of visitors, the city of Fulda will work closely with the security authorities and there will be a ban on weapons at all Christmas markets in Hesse. The Christmas market in Fulda is not only a feast for the senses, but also an important economic factor that attracts numerous visitors and stimulates the local economy.
