Southern Hesse flashes: police chases racers for more security!

Südhessen, Deutschland - alarm in southern Hesse! On November 14, 2024, the police started a large -scale lightning campaign under the motto "South Hesse flashes". From Thursday morning at 6 a.m. to Friday morning at 6 a.m., the officials will hunt on the racer in the districts of Groß-Gerau, Darmstadt-Dieburg, Bergstrasse, Bergstraße, in the Odenwaldkreis and the city of Darmstadt. The aim is to shake the road users and to raise awareness of the dangers of excessive speed.

The terrifying numbers speak for themselves: In 2023, 30 people lost their lives in southern Hesse in traffic accidents, and 597 were seriously injured. It is particularly alarming that the speed played a role in almost every third severe or fatal accident. The police see themselves as a duty to intervene here and to set a clear sign with the "South Hesse flashes". Because despite the tragic consequences, many road users see speed controls critically and doubt their benefits.

an appeal to all road users

The police call up all road users to become aware of their responsibility and strictly adhere to the speed limits. Because the focus of all measures is on the streets and thus the quality of life of everyone. The campaign should not only save lives, but also contribute to a respectful and safe cooperation in road traffic. Police spokesman Sebastian Trapmann will soon be available with an original sound to underline the importance of these measures.
