Musician Yu smashes the Höcke cardboard cutout – the fans cheer
The music scene is buzzing! Musician Yu is making headlines after causing a stir with an entertaining but highly controversial move at one of his concerts in Germany. Amid cheers and cheers from his fans, the left-wing artist smashed a cardboard cutout of Björn Höcke, a prominent AfD politician. This action took place while the musician loudly announced that he was a “music therapist” and “occasionally operated on Nazis.” Apollo News reported.
As Yu cut up the display, loud shouts of "Alerta! Alerta! Antifascista!" from the crowd. But that wasn't enough: After this “performance,” Yu tore off the cardboard cutout's head before continuing to work on the torso with a microphone. The scenario is accompanied by a song with the provocative lyrics “Jump out the window,” which Yu performed with passion. This also included the urgent recommendation to stick a fork in the socket as a racist - drastic words against the AfD and the right-wing spectrum.
Precision landing in several cities
Yu's explosive concerts took place in December in major cities such as Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna. Especially in Hamburg, Yu shocked the masses with further shocking actions when he presented the head of the Höcke figure, a pen, piquant, stuck in the middle. The piece from which these lines come is called “Fuck You” and is directed against racist, homophobic and misogynistic attitudes.
In addition to his musical message, Yu also raises his voice against the AfD on social media. He encouraged his supporters to disrupt the AfD party conference in Riesa in January 2025. His overall concept is clear: Yu doesn't want to mince his words and lets his actions and words flow freely.
Controversial reactions: art or incitement?
Reactions to Yu's provocative depictions vary widely. Some see it as a legitimate artistic device, others condemn his performance as exaggerated and violent. Within the dedicated fan scene, however, his actions seemed to be well received, as the crowd chanted in his support like “Nazis out!” clearly supported.
In an incredible performance, Yu pushed the boundaries of artistic protest and drew attention to deep social divisions. However, the risk of misunderstanding remains as to whether his use of dramatic metaphors furthers or obscures the messages. Further proof of how controversial actions in the art world repeatedly lead to discussions about freedom and the limits of art, as shown on Facebook was to be seen.
