MTV Lübeck celebrates home win: C-youth remains undefeated!
An exciting handball game in the Struckbachhalle! Last Sunday, the female C youth team from MTV Lübeck triumphed over AMTV Hamburg with a thrilling 27:24. The Lübeck women showed from the start that they were determined to defend their home record. With an early lead of 9:5 everything seemed to be going according to plan, but Hamburg came back and caused a thrill when they reduced the lead to 8:11. But the Lübeck women found their game again in time and went into the half-time break with a solid 13:9.
A game full of drama
However, the second half brought new challenges. The hosts' defense was no longer as stable as before, which allowed the guests numerous easy goals. Things got really exciting in the 38th minute when AMTV got within 20:21. But the Lübeck women showed strong nerves and extended their lead to three goals, which ultimately led to the final score of 27:24. Captain Mila was the star of the game with an impressive nine goals, including a crucial seven-meter penalty that galvanized her team.
Coach praises the performance
Coach Christoph Nisius was satisfied with his team's performance: "The result reflects our current level of performance well. Before the season, everyone would have been happy with a place in the top six. The current third place is a great snapshot." However, he emphasized that the C youth team is primarily about training the players and not just about the results. With this win, MTV Lübeck remains unbeaten at home and consolidates its position in the top half of the table. The next challenge awaits next Saturday: away against HSG Holstein Kiel/Kronshagen, where the team can hope for their previous form.
