A7 in Hamburg: full closure on the first weekend in December!
The A7 in Hamburg becomes the scene of a very special kind of traffic chaos on the first weekend in December! Motorists must prepare for a dramatic 31-hour closure between December 6th and 8th. This affects the motorway on both sides of the Elbe Tunnel, and the closure extends between the Stellingen and Heimfeld junctions.
On Friday, December 6th, from 10 p.m., the A7 will be closed for renovation work on new traffic sign gantries. The ramp closures at the Stellingen, Volkspark, Bahrenfeld, Othmarschen, Waltershof and Heimfeld junctions start at 9 p.m. - just in time for the first traffic jams of the weekend!
Diversions and measures
For drivers in the region, this work means that they not only need patience, but also have to plan alternative routes. Diversions will be set up via the A1, A21 and B205. Anyone coming from the south will be directed to the A1 from the Buchholzer triangle/Horster triangle via the Maschener Kreuz. Drivers from the north must switch to the B205 from the Neumünster-Süd junction. Diversions will be clearly indicated by LED signage to minimize chaos.
Heavy goods transport affected
The full closure of the A7 becomes a real challenge, especially for large-capacity and heavy-duty transport, as passage is not possible in both directions. All road users affected must prepare for longer travel times and get creative in order to avoid the construction site.
