Big post joke.Red alert in Binnewitz! On November 5, 2024, construction workers discovered a dangerous aerial bomb in the Großpostwitz district while they were working. All construction activities were immediately stopped and the explosive ordnance disposal service was alerted. The situation escalated when the decision was made in the evening to set up an evacuation radius of 500 meters around the site. Fire and rescue services were also put on alert as the evacuation began around 7 p.m.
Evacuation in full swing
The mayor of Großpostwitz, Markus Michauk, estimates that around 50 residents are affected by the evacuation. The emergency services are currently busy identifying the residents of the affected houses. The question that concerns everyone: Will the bomb be defused that night, or will the residents have to wait until daylight? Uncertainty hovers over the small community while emergency services do everything they can to bring the situation under control.
