FDP leader Brenner: Scholz's behavior is damaging the traffic light coalition!

A memorable evening for Björn Brenner, the chairman of the Free Democrats in the Sigmaringen district! On Wednesday he commented on the turbulent developments within the traffic light coalition. “It was foreseeable in the past few days that the marriage of convenience between the three traffic light parties would come to an end,” said Brenner, who is annoyed by the behavior of Chancellor Olaf Scholz. For Brenner, the dismissal of Finance Minister Christian Lindner and the allegations against him are a clear expression of a lack of statesmanship.

“There was a good chance that all three parties could jointly announce that they were leaving the coalition and emerge from the break with their heads held high,” emphasizes Brenner. Instead, Scholz shows little interest in compromises with the FDP, which further inflames the situation. “That is not the manner of a good statesman,” criticizes Brenner sharply and calls for a return to voters’ interests.

Focus on voter clientele

The FDP is facing a decisive turning point: “We can no longer make compromises if we want to get out of the low mood by the federal election,” explains Brenner. The focus must be returned to the electorate. “We have to strengthen the middle class and provide tax relief for all citizens, including those in the lower salary groups,” he is convinced. A clear call for mobilization and a strategy to make the FDP attractive again!
