Eschwege celebrates the first Night of Culture – an evening full of discoveries!

On Saturday, November 2nd, Eschwege will be the venue for the first “Night of Culture”! An exciting program awaits visitors, who can look forward to an evening full of creativity and inspiration. The city's churches and museums have come together to offer a unique experience open to all from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. - and best of all, entry is free everywhere!

Visitors can look forward to a range of exceptional activities. “Many of the program items are only possible on this evening,” explains Miriam Gerke from the Tourist Information Office. The highlights include guided tours of the princely crypt of the Marktkirche and the opportunity to climb the church tower of the Neustädter Church. The New Apostolic Church offers another exciting experience, where guests can immerse themselves in the past using VR glasses and explore the former Jewish synagogue. This is on loan from the Association of Friends of Jewish Life in the Werra-Meißner District.

A look at the program

The “Night of Culture” program includes numerous attractions: There are exciting exhibitions in the Tin Figure Cabinet from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Ev. Marktkirche offers guided tours of the princely crypt and a presentation of church treasures. In the Neustädter Church, visitors can expect an art event and a “champagne and seltzer chill lounge”. The Free Evangelical Community is also showing the photo exhibition “It clicked”, which offers new perspectives on Eschwege.

In the city museum, children can take part in a painting and craft activity from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., while poetry readings with the well-known slammer Micha-El Goehre take place from 6:30 p.m. A special highlight will be the flashlight tour through the museum from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Tourist Information also has an exciting offer with a reading by Kristin Weber from 8 p.m. The Naval Home doesn't disappoint either, with tours and film screenings that will illuminate the house in blue light. An unforgettable evening full of culture and discoveries awaits the people of Eschweg and their guests!
