In the late evening hours of last Thursday, several motorists and moped drivers were checked by the police in the Coburg region, which led to remarkable findings. At midnight, a patrol crew from the Neustadt police station noticed an 18-year-old driver in Rödental, who was then subjected to a traffic stop.

During this check, the officers noticed drug-like symptoms in the young man, which immediately sent alarming signals. The driver was then taken to hospital, where a blood sample was taken. In order to prevent further driving while impaired, the police also secured the vehicle key. The immediate consequences for the young adult are an expected high fine and a driving ban.

Drug case at Neustadt train station

Both drivers, a man and a 32-year-old woman, admitted to recent methamphetamine use. A small amount of this substance was even seized from the woman. In order to ensure public safety, blood samples were taken in this case and further travel was prohibited, so that the couple had to continue their way home on foot. They also have to expect a high fine and a driving ban.
