Drastic stunt accident in Echterdingen: Five injured at show!

On Whit Monday, June 9, 2025, a serious incident occurred in a parking lot of a hardware store in Echterdingen during a “car stunt show”. Shortly after 3 p.m., a stunt car was supposed to perform a planned rollover when the vehicle rolled over several times for unknown reasons and was catapulted into the adjacent spectator area. As a result of the accident, five people, including three adults and two children, sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, the 21-year-old driver of the stunt vehicle was uninjured

.

The injured were immediately cared for on site by the emergency services and some were taken to a nearby clinic. The rescue service was on site with three vehicles, an emergency doctor and an organizational manager. The fire department was also present at the scene of the accident with two vehicles and eight emergency services. The investigation into the exact cause of the accident was started by specialists from the Esslingen traffic police in order to shed light on the matter.

First aid measures and their meaning

In situations like this, the rapid response of the emergency services plays a crucial role. First aid measures are crucial not only for the rescue chain, but also for the outcome of accidents. Experts recommend brushing up on this life-saving knowledge regularly. Currently, an average of eight people die in traffic every day in Germany, which further illustrates the importance of first aid knowledge. In 2019, 3,090 deaths and 383,000 injuries were counted in traffic accidents, as documented by the Federal Statistical Office

.

The incident in Echterdingen has once again highlighted how important a well-trained rescue team is and should encourage people to actively learn and refresh their first aid skills. According to the former DRK President Dr. For Rudolf Seiters, a one-time course is not enough to be able to act safely in an emergency.

Details of the accident show that, despite the minor injuries to the spectators, serious consequences could have occurred if the response time of the emergency services had not been so quick. Those responsible for the stunt show now have to clarify how this unfortunate incident could have happened.

The investigation will provide the information necessary to prevent similar accidents in the future. It remains to be seen what measures the relevant authorities will take to ensure safety at such events.
