Direct flights to Belgrade: Bodensee Airport is expanding its offering!
Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen has expanded its route network and has been offering a direct connection to Belgrade since June 2, 2025. This new connection is operated by the Hungarian airline Wizz Air and is aimed at both business travelers and tourists. The flights take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with the first plane taking off from Friedrichshafen at 6:35 p.m. and landing in Belgrade at 8:15 p.m. The return flight is at 4:15 p.m., arriving in Friedrichshafen at 6:00 p.m. This new option is a welcome addition to the Serbian community in southern Germany and is seen as a contribution to strengthening tourism and business travel.
Belgrade is considered a dynamic metropolis with a rich culture and history, and is not only a magnet for tourists, but also an important business location. Many local companies, such as ZF, have locations in the Serbian capital. Thanks to the direct connection, travelers can now commute more quickly and easily between Lake Constance and the Serbian capital. Before this route was introduced, travelers had to rely on diversions via other airports, including Memmingen, Stuttgart, Zurich and Munich.

Belgrade Airport, inaugurated on April 28, 1962 by Josip Broz Tito, has a fascinating history behind it. After several decades of stagnation and a decline in passenger numbers as a result of the Balkan War, the airport is currently being modernized and expanded. Vinci Airports, the airport's operator, plans to increase passenger numbers to 7 million by 2024 and 10 million by 2030. The expansions include the introduction of new runways and the offering of more environmentally friendly facilities.
In conclusion, it is clear that the new connection between Friedrichshafen and Belgrade is not only important for the Lake Constance region and the Serbian community, but also represents progress for the connection between Germany and Serbia. Passengers can look forward to an exciting and varied journey between these two exciting cities.
