Müller believes that the momentum triggered by the corona pandemic was not used sustainably. Despite these challenges, Müller is optimistic and hopes for change in the coming year: “I believe that we still have enough bright minds who can secure our prosperity if we let them.”

Frederik Kramer, managing director of the IT company initOS, also addresses the digital knowledge crisis. He calls for innovative approaches and a fundamental redesign of processes in Germany. Its “Public Money, Public Code” principle aims to ensure that public administration software is open source to promote trust in political actors. Kramer believes that, despite short-term costs, this transformation could generate long-term savings that ultimately benefit society.
