A new home for Finn: The Greeck family finds hope in Templin

An emotional drama unfolded in Templin when the Greeck family fought for help with their seriously ill son Finn, who suffered from the consequences of meningitis and a stroke. The two -year twin cannot speak or run and needs constant support. His parents, Michael and Cindy Greeck, were destroyed as their desperate attempts to find a suitable barrier -free apartment.

Mayor as Savior in Need

In her hopeless Situation, Michael Greeck turned to the mayor of Templin, Detlef Tabbert. "It cannot be that people like us get no help," he complained. The mayor listened and reacted promptly: Within 24 hours, the Woba Templin-Um contacted the family and offered to convert an empty doctor's office into a barrier-free apartment. The Greecks were overwhelmed by this quick and effective support.

Two weeks ago it was finally time: the family moved into their new, disabled-friendly apartment. "Now everything is much easier when it comes to looking after Finn," says Cindy Greeck relieved. Her husband Michael can count on the support of his employer, while the siblings Oskar and Finja look forward to their new rooms. Finn and Finja are now visiting the integrative Waldhof day care center, where they are encouraged together with other children. A new phase of life full of hope and joy has started for the Greecks!
