Breast cancer provision: New Mammamobil brings hope to Templin!

In the Uckermark and the Templin region, mammography screening is still carried out with full force! Women aged 50 and over to their 70th birthday are invited to breast cancer every two years for a free check -up. Marcel Neubacher, a leading doctor in the Brandenburg Nord screening unit, emphasizes the importance of this program that comes with the Mammamobil wherever there are no stationary facilities. This is done despite the new breast cancer consultation in the Sana Hospital Templin, which serves as an additional offer.

The patients in Templin can now have their worries clarified on site! Suspicious changes in the chest or pain no longer have to wait long. Neubacher is pleased about the possibility that women can now use a breast cancer consultation in order to be treated early. Thanks to the digital breast dtomosynthesis, the new mammography devices offer improved image quality that helps with the diagnosis. But be careful: this method is not automatically less painful than the examination in the Mammamobil.

However, the new radiology in Templin offers a more painful examination thanks to a specially shaped compressor. The Brandenburg North screening unit is one of four in the country and provides the regions of Uckermark, Barnim, Prignitz and more with two mobile units. Since July 1, women between the ages of 70 and 75 have also been able to take part in the screening, but have to take care of an appointment for themselves.
