Dispute over sewage delays the return of the legendary Manhattan!
The reopening of the legendary “Manhattan” nightclub in Brandenburg is on the brink. The operator Klaus Dölle plans to bring the establishment back to life in 2025 under the new name “Likörfabrik”. But a dispute over wastewater disposal is hindering these ambitious plans. As the entrepreneur emphasizes, the city administration made unexpected requirements when approving the building application after more than seven months, which he fulfilled, but which significantly delayed the process. This was reported by the MAZ.
Dispute over the sewer line
Dölle explained that the city had given him a ban on using the old sewer pipe that runs under the train tracks. This is strange because the line was used without any problems until 2015 and other companies are also successfully connected to it. In his communication with the city, Dölle even received political support from leading CDU politicians who are pushing for a quick solution to bring the club back for the Brandenburgers. Pressure is growing as the project's economic viability suffers; Dölle has invested over 100,000 euros so far, which is significantly higher than the original cost of 70,000 euros, as he said in an interview with Meeting point Brandenburg revealed.
In addition to the difficulties with wastewater disposal, the tensions between Dölle and the city administration are also becoming clear. Frustration is growing as preparations for reopening continue to falter. It remains to be seen whether and when the “liqueur factory” will open its doors. Brandenburgers' expectations are high, but the hurdles seem extensive. Without clarifying measures and the support of the city, Döllede will therefore not be able to avoid further delaying the opening of his discotheque.
