City of Wittenberge sounds the alarm: Warning about dubious carpet cleaners!

A dubious carpet cleaning company is causing a stir in Wittenberge. The city has sounded the alarm after carpet cleaning promotional flyers began circulating around the area promising incredible discounts. As the city's trade office reports, no such business is registered at the address given, Johannes-Runge-Straße 9. This has prompted the police to warn against such offers and point out the possibility of scams. The police advise people to be careful with particularly cheap and time-limited offers, as these often serve to put potential victims under pressure and encourage them to make hasty decisions.

Another important point concerns the construction work on the A14 Elbe bridge. A notable change is underway here: On Monday, an originally unplanned interim move of the superstructure will be carried out. The steel superstructure, which is already 300 meters long, will be moved a further 64 meters towards the south.

Progress on the A14 Elbe bridge

This relocation is part of the continuous construction progress of the future bridge. Interestingly, a more extensive move is scheduled to take place at the end of January 2025, which will require a pontoon on the Elbe to move the structure. This sequence of shifts ultimately reduces the distance that has to be covered later.

The current construction work not only ensures progress in road construction, but is also important for the infrastructure development in the region as a whole. The motorway company DEGES has also stated that it will carry out the work in close coordination with the environmental authorities.

Another notable step in the Prignitz region was made by the pharmaceutical company Sirio, which recently opened a new packaging plant in Falkenhagen. The investment of an impressive 16 million euros is intended to significantly increase the company's production capacity. With the new, modern filling and blister lines, up to five million bottles and 20 million blister packs can now be produced annually.

Regional politicians and business representatives welcome this development as an important stimulus for the region, underpinned by the expansion of local infrastructure. These measures are intended not only to secure jobs, but also to create new ones in order to strengthen the region economically.

These developments in Wittenberge and Falkenhagen demonstrate the different challenges and opportunities that exist in the Prignitz region and how they simultaneously influence the economic landscape and public safety. The progress of construction work on the A14 and the impact of the opening of the new packaging plant will continue to be monitored in the coming weeks.
