A clear warning is pronounced by the German Weather Service (DWD): On Sunday, October 13, 2024, the residents of the Oder-Spree district must expect strong gusts of wind. This severe weather warning is expected to apply until 8:00 a.m. The wind speeds announced by the warning are between 70 and 90 km/h. Even more violent gusts can occur near showers, which leads to dangerous conditions.

The DWD has already announced the handover of the warning at 6:45 a.m. Cunting branches and flying objects are particularly dangerous, which can easily become a threat due to the strong wind. Residents are therefore urgently asked to secure their freely standing objects such as furniture or tents.
