Antje Nölte: New challenges on the KWR supervisory board!

Havelland.A breath of fresh air is blowing through the supervisory boards in Havelland! Antje Nölte, a dynamic entrepreneur from Rathenow, has decided to join the supervisory board of Kommunale Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH Rathenow (KWR). Your guide “Suddenly a supervisory board – what now?” becomes an indispensable companion for newcomers who want to orientate themselves in the world of supervisory boards. “You have to be sworn to secrecy about what is discussed in the meetings,” explains the 39-year-old.

Nölte is not alone in this new role. District Administrator Roger Lewandowski (CDU) is an experienced hand in the supervisory board game and sits on numerous committees that belong to the district. “You have to take responsibility for your actions and also for when you don’t act,” he emphasizes. With over ten companies under his supervision, including Havelland Kliniken and Havelbus Verkehrsgesellschaft, the responsibility is enormous. The supervisory boards have both advisory and monitoring functions to ensure that everything runs legally and economically.

Havelland clinics in crisis

The Havelland clinics are under pressure! Due to external circumstances, they are struggling with financial difficulties that also affect many other hospitals in Germany. “The managing director informed us about the emerging situation very early on,” reports Lewandowski. The supervisory board reacted promptly, issued inspection orders and called for restructuring measures to support the management. The district council has already approved a grant of 15 million euros to avert the threat of insolvency.

The supervisory boards are not only responsible for control, but also for strategic decisions. At Schloss Ribbeck GmbH, for example, they can release additional funds if necessary. The remuneration for the members of the supervisory board varies greatly: While the chairman of the Havelland Kliniken receives 2,000 euros annually, at the Kulturzentrum Rathenow GmbH it is only 25 euros per meeting. In this dynamic landscape, it is clear that the responsibility and challenges on supervisory boards are enormous - and the members are required to take their tasks seriously!
