An important part of the program was the introduction to the university library, which not only facilitates the students at short notice, but also in the long term access to scientific literature. This is an essential step for everyone who wants to orientate themselves in the academic world.
diverse workshops and lectures
The week also offered insights into different disciplines through trial lectures by professors from the FH Brandenburg. Different areas such as materials science, programming and the development of business ideas were dealt with thematically. These lectures should give young people a feeling for possible courses and professional perspectives and inspire them to discover their own ways in the academic field.
A highlight was the bilingual workshop entitled "Prototyping Sustainability - Sustainable IT", which dealt intensively with the sustainable development goals (SDGS) . Here the young people could not only learn theoretically, but also become practically active and develop prototypes of sustainable IT products. This not only promoted their creativity, but also awareness of the need for sustainable technology design.
The best ideas of the participants were awarded, which stimulated the ambition and innovative strength of the students. The competence of action you acquired in these workshops will not only be useful at school, but also in your later professional life.
Thomas Schoßau, who works in the field of university marketing of the THB, emphasized: "The orientation week of the Saldern-Gymnasium at the THB was more than just an introduction to academic and professional opportunities; it was an inspiration and a wake-up call for the pupils, actively involved in the design of a sustainable future." He emphasized the importance of the connection between academic support and practical application.
The long-term cooperation between Saldern-Gymnasium and the THB will continue in the future. A joint project day with the topic of “study and work” is already planned for November 14th to further consolidate the connection and to offer the students additional insights into the world of university education.
This measure is part of a strategic initiative that aims to prepare the students comprehensively for their academic and professional challenges. The enthusiasm of the participants and the positive response speak for themselves and show how important such programs are for the development of young people who may be the next innovators and decision -makers of tomorrow.
