Italian restaurant Bacari: New gourmet address in Brandenburg!
A new gastronomic highlight is being created in Brandenburg an der Havel: The Italian restaurant Bacari is expected to open its doors at Steinstrasse 31 in October. This location already has a significant gastronomic history, as until 2022 it was home to the popular pizzeria number 31, known as the city's first pizzeria.
Restaurateur Oliver Hahn has taken over the management of the new restaurant and promises a fresh culinary offering. “It’s time for something new,” he explains. Bacari will offer modern Italian cuisine that combines Mediterranean dishes with regional ingredients. The menu will include dishes such as pepper beef ragout and stuffed chickadee with pea risotto.
Preparations for the opening
The renovation of the restaurant is in full swing. The old lettering of pizzeria number 31 has already been removed, while the new Bacari logo is emblazoned. Oliver Hahn and his team have carried out extensive work on the building technology and furnishings. “Our lasagne will be completely different than what we have seen before,” says Hahn, who plans to creatively reinterpret well-known classics.
The Bacari team wants guests to look forward to a Mediterranean experience. Oliver Hahn emphasizes that, in addition to Italian standards, he will also use regional products: “Instead of zucchini, we prepare the dishes with kohlrabi and turnips.” The restaurant will try to combine traditional Italian ingredients with the local flavors of Brandenburg.
A striking feature of the new menu will be the absence of club dishes such as the previous pizzeria's famous spiced meat pizza. Oliver Hahn explains that he wants to forego this typical dish to make room for innovative dishes that offer Brandenburgers a new taste experience.
The restaurant will accommodate up to 30 guests and create a friendly, Italian-inspired atmosphere. A delivery service is not offered, but guests have the option to enjoy the dishes on site or pick them up to take away. The aim is to create a real Mediterranean holiday feeling that embodies the joy of life and gastronomy of the south.
An experienced restaurateur at work
Oliver Hahn brings a lot of experience. He began his training in an Italian restaurant at a young age. After several years in catering, where he worked with chef Michael Zemlin, he took the step of becoming self-employed. Bacari will therefore also be the continuation of his passion for Italian cuisine.
There already seems to be great interest in the new restaurant. In front of the restaurant, passers-by look curiously through the windows and follow the progress of the renovation work. Oliver Hahn also has a clear vision here: “We want the people of Brandenburg to give our Bacari a real chance,” he says and hopes to be able to start operating the restaurant soon.
However, there are still challenges to overcome. The counter's cooling system is currently broken, which is delaying the opening. As soon as this problem is solved, Hahn wants to set the first official opening day as quickly as possible.
Bacari will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 4 p.m., with the kitchen closing at 9:30 p.m. This makes it a valuable addition to the city's already diverse gastronomic scene and offers Brandenburgers the opportunity to discover new taste experiences.
