Stefan Raab loses at the show premiere – surprise winner Marc!
On December 21, 2024, the eagerly awaited new Saturday evening show by Stefan Raab and Michael “Bully” Herbig started on RTL: “Stefan and Bully against some Schnulli”. However, the premiere was overshadowed by a defeat. Raab and Herbig, the new dream team of German television, had to admit defeat in the competition against the 35-year-old Bundeswehr doctor Marc from Berlin. In a thrilling final that was only decided after 1:30 a.m., Marc won with prize money of 250,000 euros, which he said he would like to use for his planned wedding, as RTL reported.
A duel full of challenges
The show was strongly reminiscent of Raab's earlier successful format “Schlag den Raab”. Raab and Bully competed as a team and had to compete against the contestant in a variety of exciting games, including guessing heights of famous people and throwing Christmas trees into a truck. Despite their best efforts, including a tricky Frisbee game, they were unable to score the points they needed. The doctor Marc received special significance because of his impressive achievements to date: he studied medicine at the Charité, won judo championships and completed the Berlin Marathon, which underlined his extraordinary abilities.
The show itself was hosted by Elton, while Frank Buschmann took on the role of commentator. The audience experienced an evening full of thrills, with humorous taunts between Raab and the others involved, reminiscent of old times. Raab's ambivalent emotions during the games in particular ensured that the spectators felt nostalgic. Systematic disruptions caused by his own mistakes made for some amusing moments and raised the question of whether Raab really maintained the level of his past shows, which Buschmann openly addressed.
The dynamic presentation and the great engagement of the audience made the premiere an entertaining event that reminded many fans of the great times of “Schlag den Raab”. That's why the next edition of the show, planned for spring 2025, is eagerly awaited to see whether Raab and Bully can then defeat their opponents, as RTL summarized.
